I was wondering if anyone could check their fans the next time they did a cold start. To start their explorer with the. Climate control turned off and check to see if the radiator fans are running or not. Thanks!

Went out to the garage and did this just for you. ;) Temp in garage was 35 F. Started Explorer with Climate OFF and the fans were NOT running.

Thanks ! I guess my fans ok

Mine do not run either on a cold start.

Most modern vehicles have the fans not start up until the engine is at operating temperature to assist in vehicle warm up.

It seems mine come on early

They should also turn on when/if the air conditioning comes on. I am not sure if there is a temperature override for when it is cold outside.

That's why I mentioned with climate control turned off. It just seems like it takes too long to heat up that's all. I have never owned a vehicle with more than one zone maybe that's why?

Whoops! I shoulda paid more attention :)
