Got My Recall Notice for Cooling Fans..

I received the fan recall for my Jan 2012-built Explorer. My service manager said my fans were not working at all. Luckily I have only driven my Explorer about 3,000 miles and no stop-and-go freeway traffic.

Dropped my 2011 off last night and now it gets to spend the better part of a month waiting for a new fan to come in. :-(

Month? They had mine shipped next day and I picked it up after work. That was a few weeks back.

For those that had the recall made , did the dealer say that the MFT upgrade is part of this recall ?
Because i want to remain with the same version .

The cooling fan program (12B36, I believe) and the MFT performance upgrade are two separate items.
The latest MFT version is Gen 2 - V3.0.2
I assume any subsequent modifications/upgrades will be based on that version.

The Dealer made the re-program and didn't touch the MFT thank God. The Service Advisor said that the Supervisor stated that both had to be done.....

What i noticed funny is that the temp bar is in the middle straight after i turned i on. Is this normal....

Just to update. After the reprogram i have to say that i also noticed a change in the truck just like AKMechanic said, but what i feel is that it is running smoother. The transmission shifts are changing better so i think this reprogram also affect something with the transmission as well but Ford will not say it.

My only compliant since i bought it is that i used to feel the truck slow but i was concerned because i never owned a truck and allways sport cars so i thought i was my feeling but now it is a lot of difference.

Finally i am monitoring the gas milage which is 19.1 to see if it also increase.
