After a recent hose explosion, I've decided its time for a cooling system revamp.
So far I've replaced everything except the water pump, temperature sending unit and the fan. I've tested the sending unit and the readings are within specs, so i'm going to leave it alone for now. The fan blade has more cracks than the bark on a tree, so I will be replacing that with a nice metal one... I'm going to take off the water pump and inspect it, although I'm not 100% sure what I'm looking for... Any suggestions?

Once you remove it, spin the impeller shaft and listen for any excessive noise. If it's noisy the bearing is probably on it's way out so on that note I would replace the pump.

Take a look also at the condition of the impeller. If it's chipped, severely corroded such as something like this, it could be causing cavetation which I would definately replace.

Now would be a good time to give it a good thourough system flush while you have everything apart.
