Copper roof rack? Am I nuts?

How about UniStrut? That can be had in (w x h) 2 x 1, 2 x 2 & 2 x 4 sizes in steel and aluminum. Usually available in most industrial hardware stores or building trade supply centers. It may not look real pretty but I think it would do the job.

I don't know about the weight issue but I've seen some decent racks made out of rebar. Just an idea.

Still no update to report as of late. I know, I know, I'm lagging...but it's because I sold my boat and bought a motorcycle, and we've been having such perfect weather lately (c'mon, it IS southern California) that I've been riding everywhere. Poor Exploder just sits now. But this thing is taking up room on my bench, so I should get it done and on the roof. I'll get on it, guys, I promise. But not until next week...RIVER TRIP this weekend!

maybe you could use some thick rebar to make a rack. not sure how much it costs but it seems like it would be easy enough to bend to the angles you need with a bender then you just need to weld it all together and paint it. just a thought
