could be the coils?

hello; I hope somebody can help me with a problem on my wife`s 2000 explorer, it all stared when I washed the engi, does not have a sensor light on,but after running for a wile or as soon it heat up, it star shocking,it lose power, make some explosions at the muffle, it sounds like it drown, and then die. all this happen more faster if turn A/C on, I replaced the gas filter, spark plugs and cables, I cleaned all the sensors, the only thing I haven`t replace is the coil pack. I have low gas millage, it`s killing me. :(:mad:$$$$$$$$$
after it die,she have to wait until it cold down,then go. I live on las vegas, very hot 115 degrees, like I said, I hope some of you can tell me what to do,a friend of mine toll me that the muffle must be clog, I all ready spend to much money guessing what can be. thank you for reading, talk to you soon.

thanks for answer, I`m not a tech,that is why I will ask you what is a PCM?
 






PCM stands for Powertrain Control Module.

The PCM,is the brains of the engine control system, so when the brain is not functioning correctly neither is the engine or anything else that the microprocessor controls - which may include the charging system, transmission, various emission controls and communications with other onboard control modules.
 






thanks, is there a special tool for this? who may know this test? at any shop or an auto electric shop? I`m sorry, to many questions I just tired dealing with this problem, any way thank you very much for your time and help, write you soon.
