Hi, trying to replace the rear brake pads and noticed I could hardly spin the rear axle with my hands at all, it's in neutral and brake calipers and rotor are off. Is this normal for a 4x4 or something is broke inside the differential? Thanks in advance for any feedbacks.

is the park brake on or is it stuck on? look at the lever on the backing plate and if it is not touching the backing plate tap the lever back with a hammer

your not going to be able to turn the rear diff with out alot torque. you would have to take the drive shaft off or seperate the drive shaft from the pig and then it would turn

Thanks, you answered my question. I thought for a moment the differential fluids were gone.:)
