Could Use Some Help/Opinions

First post haha - I have a 2000 explorer and I'm really looking forward to creating my first system. I have some basic knowledge, but over all I'm pretty new to the whole car audio expirinece so I could really use some advice. I think I have some pretty good ideas, but any opinions would be appreciated. I already have an Alpine CDA-9851 head unit, but heres what I was thinking (I will be buying mostly from ebay)...

I could really use some advice on what type/brand/power of amp I should/need to use for my speakers, but I'd like to keep the price under 180 on ebay. Over all - will this system be loud, yet keep quality sound? Thanks.

the most important thing will be the install of the sub. you can't really go wrong spending that much money on stuff from any brand (alpine is good too- although probably overpriced), unless you don't take the time to build a proper sub enclosure and/or neglect to sound deaden

I'll have to look more into sound deadening, but what amp would you recommend for my speakers?

i would recommend running 6.5" components up front and no speakers in the rear, but if your dead set on them just run them off your hu's amp or whatever and keep them "down". I would run around 50 watts rms to those components and the amp you have for the sub is fine. i would also definitely pick up an audiocontrol eqx or similar.

I've heard alot about 6.5's and I'd love to get them, but I'm not to interested in the modification aspect. But anyway, you don't think it's neccessary to amp the rears? For some reason I was under the impression that i would need to. As for 2 channels amps for just the components - which of these would you say is the best? These are the brands that first came to mind...

i'd stick with one brand throughout- just for looks etc. nothing wrong with alpine if thats the route you want to go.

if you want advice for what company to use for a cheap system i would say clarion, kicker, mtx or jbl (not that they are "cheap" brands, just that i think they represent a better value for your dollar off of ebay)

my preference would be jbl

the jbl gti sub will keep up with that alpine in most aspects for a bit less $ for sure- if you used that money towards an equalizer/crossover like the audiocontrol eqx it would more than make up for the inherent sq difference in the subs (if there really is any) i haven't heard many complaints about that jbl.

i'm a JL man myself as far as subwoofers go. I have two JL 10 W3V2's that i bought used for $150. Not sure on the price brand new. Anyways I built an ugly box that is out of dimension, something that is temp just until I build custom enclosures for the corners to get the subs out of the way. It pounds as far as i'm concerned. I've heard better, but the people are into competetion and they spend $$$$ to get that kind of sound. Anyways the subs shake everything in the car and can give people earaches. I would personally try to go with JL for subs. For an amp you can really get anything you'd like as long as your running the correct ohms and you are getting enough wattage to the subs. JL amps are a little pricey but worth the extra buck if you want to go that way. I have a bazooka amp I bought off someone(desperate at the time) and it works immaculately. I'm running an alpine head unit as well. Your components sound good to me. I've been through a lot of systems and tried a lot of things and so far JL has been the best for me. If your looking to spend the big bucks, you can always go for the solobarics. They are great speakers, but not for an unforgiving price.

you dont have to make a large modification for 6.5 i have infinity 6.5 right now in my front and rear door take a cardboard mold of you housing where the 5 by 7 sat and trafer it to half inch or three quater mdf cut it out and then cut your hole fo the 6.5 and tweeter and put it in place
