Hello everyone from the soggy Pacific Northwest!
I'll get straight to the point. I have a '99 Ford Ranger 3.0 stock, except the CAI. The truck just turned 100K and I'd like to think I've taken pretty good care of her. I change the lubricants regularily and change the shocks, tires, plugs and plug wires. It's been a great truck and I'd like to keep it for a while. But tonight on the way home, my check engine light came on. It's not overheating, the lights aren't dimming (alternator) and I'm not low on oil.
I did notice that just before the light came on, it seemed to hesitate just a little bit before the power kicked in while going up a hill. Less than 5 minutes later the light came on. I read on some other engine forums that it might be my O2 (I haven't changed it) sensor but I'm not going to just start throwing parts at it. Since I've read some intelligent posts on here I thought I might ask you guys what you think?
Thanks in advance,
Dean
