hey, was thinking about an alarm system for the X. was wondering if they work with manual locks? i know most of them will lock the doors and arm the system but mine has the manual locks. would they need to be converted to electric locks? thanks for the help

You can do an alarm system with manual locks. It won't have all the fancy stuff though. You can have one with a motion detector in it which goes off if something inside the truck moves. You can also have a shock sensor on the exterior of the vehicle which will go off if the truck senses vibration. It will flash the lights and honk the horn and the siren will go off. It can still be done. But if you just want to also have power locks, then that can also be done.

dont want anything fancy really only want the shock sensor, with siren and horn going off, mabye a voice siren thing too. i would like to have the 2way system with the fancy key ring thing too. really just want to know if someone is too close to it or messing with it. kids at school and then some of the ppl at work like to TP cars for some reason lol. thanks for the help

Maybe you might want the pager style alarm. The car doesn't use a siren, or flashing lights, but a pager you carry will go off if you are within its range. The newer ones have a small display of the car, and will show you which area is activated (trunk is open, driver's door is open, etc.).

Which alarm do you know of that doesnt have a siren that goes off when the alarm is tripped? or makes the lights flash?

Changing your manual locks to auto locks should be very easy and not that expensive for a professional installer to do. I would not recommend investing in an alarm that has a two way pager built in and not upgrading to auto locks.

I'd agree with that. Upgrade the locks to power.
