I looked in the manual but could not find these answers;

1. Is there any way to save a destination you drive to (like a deserted beach with no name, etc) as a favorite once you are there and want to keep it so you can get back there? I used to be able to do this with my garmin, it saves the GPS data but I could not see any way to do this on the NAV we have.

2. How many favorites can you save before it deletes the old ones? Is there even a limit?

Thanks.... :)

Yes, you can save to favorites. I believe you press on the screen when you are at the place and one of the black boxes that will pop up along the bottom will give you that option.

I don't know the answer about the limit of points, because every time the system has to be reset all the favorites are lost.:mad:

I've had to re-program the same favorites at least 4 times now; it's really frustrating. I have requested that Ford program the ability to download the favorites to a Flash drive for safekeeping during a reset, but all I was told was that it was not available.

Here is another NAV question/complaint. Does anyone know if the system can display city or town names when zoomed out to 5mi and 10mi? From what I see it only shows names of bigger cities (300,000 plus) when zoomed at 5mi and 1,000,000 plus at 10mi. From what I could tell, most other towns don't show up at all at any zoom level. My '06 Murano shows more information than the Explorer does, although the POI info on the screen in the Ex is cool.

Hmmm....will have to play around with that THANKS!!

Not happy to hear about the reset problem...ugh..

What do you mean by a "reset"? A system maintanence reboot it does on its own or a battery/fuse pull?

You can also reboot the system manually with a "Master reset". It reverts all settings back to original settings. It's a step beyond the automatic reboot that V 2.11 does, Your phone pair will be deleted as well as all your NAV favorites.

I believe the Ford IVT has suggested that all users should perform Master resets periodically to clear built up snags to the functioning of MFT.
