Just a few questions for you all. ive got the notorious vibration at 60mph and have had the tires alligned and balanced and the problem still doesnt go away. ive read some where the the motor mounts can cuase this as well. so beofre i replace them im wondering if you all have replaced these and if there is a company who makes great motor mounts. something that will last a while and wont shear because they are cheaply made.

the other question. my rear diff has sheared the keys for the limited slip clutch im going to replace these and am wondering how much of a pain it is to replace them. will i need to pull the tires and axles completely out or can i get away with just poping some pins free and pushing the axles out a bit. :redexp: :hammer:

To answer your first question, your X is over 10 years old, how much longer should a motor mount last? I have seen them fail in front wheel drive cars in less than 3 years. As for your second, you will have to remove the wheels, tires, diff cover, c-clips and the axle shafts (at minimum).

check wheel bearings ..... they could cause that.

I want them to last as long as they last on large ships. hehe. if you havent seen motor mounts on a large ship they are a sight to see. 2 steel blocks with about 6 heavy duty springs sandwhiched between them. now those last for quite some time as long as they are taken care of. :bounce:
