Did you install a new clutch disc, pressure plate assembly and made sure the pressure plate is bolted on evenly (torque wise)? Cauz maybe the pressure plate is defunked and isnt applying an even pressure on the flywheel.

Considering you have an Eddie bower, I'm guessing you have an automatic which means you have a cracked flexplate. There is an updated flexplate spacer, also get new flexplate bolts, and make sure you use the correct torque specs. Consider getting a trans fluid temp gauge and cooler.

well im not gonna get on hear and say that i know what im doin 100%. cause i don't, im a interior person and when it comes to engines and trannys, i know alittle but not enough. when we first put the flexplate on the whole assembly was really tight (no play or movement at all) & we finally found a little grove that the assembly nicely slid into witch gave it a small amout of play, so whats up with that, was it wrong to have that little play in it?

You don't want any play. Were the bolts bottoming out? (possibly stretched TTY bolts) If you compare the old flexplate spacer to the new you will see the difference, the old one used a softer metal.

well what i ment by play, is the torchconverter/flexplate assembly would move alittle inside the tranny housing after the tranny is bolted back to the block, but i'll look into that spacer & those bolts if you think that might be the problem
