Crank But No Start

We have an 02 Ford Explorer XLT that is not starting. Started at 230 am on the last below zero day (-10 in central IL) we had. Would crank but wouldn't start 4 hours later. Already checked and it is getting fuel, spark, and it has compression. Any other suggestions? It is not throwing any codes either.

Check the IAC valve. Did you give it some throttle while cranking? Tap on the IAC while cranking, it could be stuck with the extreme cold you folks been having lately. IAC valves as I understand from talking to lot of people can be problematic. Let us know your outcome.

Ill try the tapping on the IAC valve. As far as throttle I have had it wide open, shut, half open, and quarter open. I have sprayed starting fluid in with no luck also. The fuel pump runs and has plenty of pressure, spark plugs were changed and checked for spark, and did a quick check of compressoon by placing thumb over spark plug hole ,pushed my finger off forcibly. Thinking of replacing camshaft sensor and crank sensor just to be safe. The truck has approximately 215,000 miles on it.

If you decide to go the route selected by The Driver, here is some info from my owner's manual to point you in the right direction. If you don't have an owner's manual, Dead Link Removed.

In the power distribution box under the hood: #12 is a 50A Maxi Fuse for the ignition relay, #23 is a 30A Maxi Fuse for the ignition switch, #58 is the ignition relay.

I would also check the fuse for the PATS (Passive Anti-Theft System) module in the fuse panel under the dash. #14 is a 5A Mini Fuse for the PATS Module:

Have you tried starting the Ex with a different key? It's possible the the key or keys have to be re-programmed.

My truck has a anti-theft fob on the key ring with the key, had to replace the battery in mine a while back so that my truck would start. Might be a place to look. just my 2 cents worth, good luck

Well checked all the above mentioned items, thanks guys. Still just cranks and cranks. Anti theft light goes out instead of flashing, so pats is working properly. Going for crank sensor now.
