Creaking noise in reverse

Hey guys,
I don't think this is a big problem, it seems like something I need to lubricate but I don't know where to start. When I go into reverse and start to back up, I get a little clunk sound from the front end. Might this be a front diff thing? What should I do? Thanks guys..

welcome to the site... sounds like either a u joint issue, or a heatshield/ skidplate issue... my t case skidplate was bent, and it rubbed the tcase when i put the truck in reverse, but in forward it didnt make any sound at all.....

thanks for the welcome, glad to be here, its great to be able to get help with anything regarding the truck...

so i guess i check and see if the skid plate is bent, otherwise its a u-joint. how would i go about checking that out?? thanks!
