I have a 96 sport 2x4 and just had my clutch disk, pressure plate and both hydros replaced, coincidently I found out my cruise control stopped working. Is there anything in the transmission area that the shop could have broke or not hooked up correctly to afect my crusie control? I took it back and they said there wasn't, but wanted to run it by a few other experts.

no, the transmission and the cruise control have nothing to do with each other. Im under the impression that this is a manual tranny... but that has nothing to do with anything..

the crusie control is connected to the throttle with its own cable and what not. im not exactly sure on the newer models, but on mine i would check the cable at the trottle, and if thats not the case check the motor or whatever that controls the cruise control.

The cruise control does have a safety switch in the Clutch Position Sensor so when you push in the clutch the cruise turns off. However the Neutral safety switch is also in that same switch so your truck shouldn't start if thats not hooked up.

Not sure about yours, but my '97 AWD has a disengagement switch right on the end of the master brake cylinder. I replaced it for about $30 and that fixed the problem.
