Possibly cruise control switch recall? I know there was a recall on some but I'm not sure whta years, I'm not sure if it'd be related, but possible. Give ford a call.

no the little light bulbs went out inside of them and i was trying to get to them to see if they were replaceable which they arnt. im going to get new switches probably within the next day. i just need to know how to get the old ones off and new ones on. it looks like you have to take the airbag cover off but im not sure...i hate working around the airbag. if anyone knows please let me know. all recalls are up to date. i appreciate it.

Hey man It's Real Easy, just disconnect the battery then unscrew the 2 screws on the left and right sides of the steering wheel, hidden under faceplates, and then after that it's common sense.
Check out my Cruise control buttons post! /here!\
Also, The cruise buttons were not recalled, the actual cruise control was recalled, I actually just had mine taken in for it, they got it done in a couple hours and now I don't have to worry about my truck spontaneously combusting..

Also remove the fuses for the airbags after disconnecting the battery and wait 10 minutes or so before removing the airbag. It's not a bad idea to wear an anti-static wristband while handling airbags either. These are just extra safety measures because it would really be costly and possibly dangerous to accidently set one of them off.

Somewhere out there, there is a write up on replacing the bulbs in those switches. I even think they went to LED's. Jamie, was it one of your buddies that did that? Anyone else remember seeing anything on that?
