Don't have a Sport myself but if they are like the others than the answer would be NO. It only shows when you have selected the manual shift mode. Otherwise there is no display.

I have a sport and can confirm Peter's response. The gear display shows under the tach only when in manual mode. Note with the sport that it can be placed into manual mode temporarily by pressing either paddle shifter or full time by moving the gear selector to Manual.

Hi JohnBoyToo,

Others have already chimed in with the answer to your question, but if this is a feature you'd like to see in future models, I recommend posting it to the "Your Ideas" tab of http://social.ford.com. Once posted, these ideas can be voted on by the community; we review these ideas daily.

Any stats you can share?

Crystal, can you share any statistics about these ideas you review daily? How many make it to production? 1 in 10? 1 in 100? Just curious if your customer base is smarter than your design and marketing team.

They should do what they do in the Fusion Titanium models. When I flick the paddle shifters on the car even if I'm not in S (M mode in the Explorer), it shows what gear I'm in and I think it changes the gear too. They should do that for the buttons on the Explorer.

When you hit the paddle shifters on the sport, it does that, but it's temporary....

I just like to know what gear I am in at all times - that's all :)

Hi tucker_bmd,

I don't have access to any analysis data about idea implementation, but I have let my superiors know that this is the kind of information that customers have asked about. If I get any additional information, I'll let you know!
