Hey, I was thinking about trying to fabricate some sort of custom intake. I at least want to get rid of the stock airbox or drill it out. I was wondering what I would do with the two vacuum lines going into the top of the airbox. Do I re-route them somewhere or what?? I did a search on airboxes but didn't find any info on the vacuum lines. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dan

Only one of the hoses draws vacuum, but I plugged both for good measure. Good luck

i want to find a way to get rid of the restrictive stock intake tube. that black plastic tube that attaches to the airbox. if anyone found a way to do this on an early model explorer, please let me know.

So both can be plugged without problem? What is their purpose? Thanks for the help.

If you are talking about the "silencer", then can you cut out around it with a Dremel to enlarge the inlet hole? Thats what I did on my 99.
