Custom Kick Panels

I am considering making custom kick panels for component speakers for my 05 explorer. There isnt any Q Form kick panels (or whatever they're called) from crutchfield for the 05. The only concern I have it, when I fiberglass the kick panels how would I hold them into place? I am pretty sure the factory kick panels have pins, does anyone know a way I can get my fiberglass kick panels to stay in place? I thought about cutting them off the factory ones and putting them on the custom ones, but I want to leave the factory kickpanels as is incase I want them back on.

If anyone has any idea how to keep my fiberglass kickpanels on or how to make these pins please let me know because I really want to start on this project.

Honestly, I have the same idea you do when it comes to customization.
I try to save as much of the factory equipment as I can just in case.

What I have always done for friends, just got to a junk and buy some damaged panels. All you need are for the pins to be good. Spend maybe, $30? That way you can take your time in making them, still have the factory attachments, and not have to worry about not having anything in the EX for weeks at a time.

Yep, I'd fab off of a donor pair to the attach points. But I'm wondering why Qlogic would pass up such an extensive vehicle model as the Explorer. There might not be enough room behind the plates to mount anything so I'd measure 1st before you start spending $. They list some pretty obscure models in their application guide.

Yeah I guess I'll have to do that.. but my concern is what if I can't find a junk kick panel? I wonder if I can use something like velcro to keep it in place.. I'm sure I can figure something out... zip ties? lol.. im clueless

I have a Ranger Excab. I'm modifying a set of Qforms from my 97 F150 to fit my truck. i have the passenger side about done. I may have to bend the E brake pedal to get clearance on the drivers side. I might be able to shorten the e brake cable also so it catches at the top of its swing.
