Has anyone used camburg... or similiar cur and turned TTB's..... Are they worth using, or would a standard lift be just as good?

Anyone that has info one way or another let me know. I would like some serious input on this!!

Thanks, Kevin

They're a great way to go for hard wheeling, esp. for jumping or faster driving. More clearance and less stress on the frame and axle pivot brackets. These are almost always used in conjunction with extended (sometimes heim jointed) radius arms. Only downside is material and installation cost. You're looking at basically tearing down and rebuilding the whole front drivetrain and suspension in terms of labor.

camburg is a great company they do good stuff... the only downside i see to them is cost and propbably slow turnaround time, as i bet they are pretty busy......

im getting cut and turned beams very soon. I have looked all over the place at different makers and also the price difference. This is definitely better than a generic lift because of the durability factor. chances are, unless you womp the hell outta those things, they won't break. Also, if you get widened beams, you will also get more travel, when combined with extended heimed radius arms. Camburgs cut and turned beams that are widened 4" on either side are $2000. And you still have to get custom extended axles made. so youre looking at about 2600. Those beams are so phat though. They are all plated up and everything for strength and you can pull 19" of wheel travel with them.

I just bought camburg extended heimed radius arms last weekend. I need to get shock mounts made then I will throw them on the truck. If you have never worked on your front suspension before, you will have a hard time figuring stuff out, but it will be very very time consuming. I am going to buy cut and turned beams from baja concepts. (www.bajaconcepts.com) They are widened 1-3/8" on both sides which gives more travel, and they are only 850. They also come with a new axle piece, which makes up for the widening.

One thing you must remember, in order for your steering to be on par, you will need to extend your steering arms to make up for the widening. Go on prerunners.net and look at some of the guys steering links on there to see what I'm talking about.

Summary, it is a costly way to get lift, but if you plan on rompin your truck, then definitely definitely go for the beams. peace

i just talked to gopher, and i would like to learn more about these.... he mentioned that even through camburg, cut and turned d35ttb for the gen one explorers id like $350 after i return the core.... for stock sized stuff allowing me 4" of lift.....

I ended up not having a whole lot of money, so I just bought the Camburg cut and turned ttb's, non-widened. I wish I could have gone wider, but maybe I will later. Anyways, I paid 303+tax. It would have been 503 if I had not brought my core in when I returned them. They were a serious ***** to install/remove. I gotta get it realigned probly and still get shock mounts taken care of then I will be set. Let me know if you gots any more questions.

Oh and I am getting 5.5" of lift out of those beams. It seems almost like it is higher than it was before.
