My exhaust hanger recently broke and I did not realize it as I was backing which resulted in ripping the exhaust pipe down and cracking the muffler. My only option was to hacksaw off so right now I currently have only a cat converter and about a foot of pipe.

I am curious what the law in Arizona is for exhuast pipes on passenger cars/SUV, does the pipe just have to be extended to the rear axle. I am curious to this because if that is the law then I can just buy a flowmaster and connect a straight pipe back to the axle and mount it. If not then I am going to have to take it to Meinke or another place and have them install a custom pipe for it to exit around the axle and leafs.

according to United States Federal Motor Vehicle Law or Department of Transportation, any passenger vehicle must have the exhuast exit at or behind the rear axle

the idea for jsut a pipe to go back that far is fine, other than the fact it will be loud, in which case they might nail you for noise violation... here in CA i think its like 90 db of noise you are allowed to put out at a certain amount of feet

Alright, I am going to get a 50 series delta to cut down on some sound and right now it isn't unbearable with no muffler at all.
