So i was just out in the garage doin a lower ball joint swap and in the process noticed i have alot of play in the inner cv joint. I know there has got to be a little play but we're talken like 2-3 inches...am i gonna be adding that to the list of needed fixes Also where it connects to the hub the rubber ring is shot and there is an exposed steel ring...any help would be appreciated

if the rubber boot is torn, it will need to be replaced. there's no saving it once dirts gets in there.

can you take a picture? you can replace them for cheap, under 50$

The boots look to be in good shape. my concerns were originally just the amount of compresion in the joint but was told thats ok. now that I have it put back together, where it attached to the differential there was about a quarter to a half inch of play..it sort of rattled in and out and the attatchment point to the hub the rubber ring was shot so i think i will end up replacing it...other wise it seemed pretty solid rotationally
