Ok...well let me start out by saying that this problem is not on my own vehicle. Im trying to help a friend out who just got this Explorer (1995 XLT 4X4 4.0) and put way to much money into it already. Ive read thru the threads about this problem but cant really get a good answer.
The problem all started last friday when we stoped hard (brakes locked up) we drove maybe a mile and the O/D light started blinking. The only real problem that we have noticed is the hard downshift from 2nd to 1st. (Limp Mode Caused) other than that it shifts perfect, O/D shifs in at 40-45 mph and takeing off from a stop it shift smothly. Shes worried because shes taking a trip to chicago to pick up her friend and dosent want to have to call me to come rescue them and i really dont want to let her borrow my 94 X. Thanks for the help in advance if anyone can.
