The YJ axle is a good swap becuase of the high pinion. That makes it as strong as the LP D44. There are plenty of replacement axles for the two piece passenger side. Upgrades are almost endless.

sweet...i may be all over this axle then since it seems like a pretty decent price. Notajp i remembered you had the yj axle right after i posted. if i could, could i get a list of the things you used? like what leafs and all that. i know you built your brackets. i know i had a list, but with my PM box full i may have deleted it.

thanks

that price includes all the steering linkage too. will that carrier hold the 4.56's?

The stock steering won't do you any good unless you plan on running the axle spring under. That carrier won't hold 4.56s either but for $75 it's still a good deal. I'm working on a brake upgrade for the Wrangler so keep an eye on my thread. BTW, here's Dead Link Removed . Feel free to post ask any questions, anytime.

i found someone selling this M.O.R.E hi steer set up. it's from a yj, so will it work with the yj axle i'm gettin? or do i have to get one for my explorer set up?

here's the description:
M.O.R.E. YJ dana 30 high steer system
This kit includes the tierod, drag link, high steer bracket, and three of the four hiem joints $325 obo

That sounds pretty good. I'd try to talk him down some for being used. Heim joints aren't too expensive, prob about $25 and you'd be set. I forgot what size they are.

I have the setup for the YJ. The drag link and tierod fit perfectly.

Edit: Acutally that is a really good price. CoryL wants $300 just for the tierod and draglink. That's a great find!

ok...yah i was going to see if he'd take 275 for the kit. i know they retail for about 500. so this may end up being a pretty cheap conversion.
