Hello all, I have to do the CV Joints in my 97 X and figured while I'm there I want to look into a diff cover that has a drain plug. There are several on the market but none have a measurement of how much clearance they need. Has anyone done this and if so what did you guys use?

I think everyone uses a suction pump with a hose thru the fill hole. A manual one just cost me $8.00

I'll be using it to fill also.

Yeah, that's how I've done it in the past. I was just hoping to make it easier in the future.

Ive never read of anyone making a drain plug for front dif.
I guess it could be done if you were pulling the dif to change the oil.

if you go that route why not have one made its simple enough when you get the cover off. find someone to weld a nut at the bottom of the cover then you can place a matching bolt with an oil plug gasket around it. and voila
