After removing brake backing plate leaving the bracket with the bolts left, there is a full weld going around the left side of the bracket.
My question is...If I cut the weld will the spindle come off or is there part of the spindle that is pressed into the axle tube? The spindle is smaller diameter on the right side of the welded bracket, but seems not small enough to go inside the axle tube, unless it steps down.
And how do the axle shops remove it if they need to replace the spindle?
I need to cut down the tube length. I could just cut axle tube near center section and splint it with an interior sleeve but I like the idea of cutting off the end.
On my front axle D i did cut through the weld on the knuckle and shortened the axle that way.

Or spend the big bucks for these from Solid.
