Dang rear swaybar!

I have those same Warrior disconnects for the front, and I am not incredibly happy with them. For one, they are difficult as snot to disconnect, and two, they pop and make noise. Which I assume is from the sleeves in the bushings being a little too wide and rubbing the swaybar mount. But I am a 94 and do not know if the swaybars hook up the same on later model Exs, but I would grind the sleeves down just a tad to be safe, in the event my scenario is duplicated:rolleyes:
 






OK, I got them on, but I have a very, very important question. How close can the sway bar be to the differential housing? I thought I could flip my sway bar back over, the "normal" way, but it hits the new shock mounts that way. I attached it the way I had it before, withthe sway bar "upside-down," but now it's only about 3/4" away from the top of the diff cover. How much does it move while driving? Is this too close?

It does, but not that much if you disco it while wheeling.
 






Yeah, I didn't think it moved all that much during reguar driving. Of course, I'll disconnect it while wheeling, that's the whole point. I'll just leave it for now and just check ot after every drive to see if it hits or rubs. If so, I'll figure something out. I'll post some pics soon.
 












Here are two pics I just took. I f you want any more let me know. It looks like I won't even need to unhook the upper part. The sway bar will move out of the way. If you look at where the spring perces are from my SOA, you'll see that the sway bar is right under it. If I were to flip it around, the bar whould hit the shock perch. Since all SOA's are differnent, this may or may not affect others. All in all they seem OK. I'll try them out for flex this weekend and post those pics (some before and after).

Also, they were a ***** to put on because of the bushings. When they had fabricated the older sway bar links, they welded then sections with the factory bushing in there. THe rubber had fused to the lower bolt, and it took me a half hour just to get them out of the bushings! Other than that tough, it was pretty simple, about a 20 minute job.
 






Those look very nice for the rear.

For the front, just get a boxed wrench and a ratchet and undo the factory mounts in 3 minutes. If your stock front swaybar mounting bolts (the very long ones) come out the top then reinstall them so they come out the bottom.
 






Yep I'll try that for the front. The front flexes very little with the sway bar attached. Since I'm very lazy, and that 3 minutes is about 2 minutes and 30 seconds more than I want o spend doing anything, I may get the fron quick discos too. I'll try the free version first. :)
 






Come on Doc! haha. i'll see this weekend if i can get the lower bolt out and if i do i won't have to buy the quick disco's like yours. i'll put a clevis pin in there and do it like that and put valoline between the brushing and the clevis pin so it'll slid out easy. i'll update ya on how it goes.
 






OK, on a hunch I checked something. I jacked up the rear from the middle so that both rear shocks extended at the same time, and sure enough, the sway bar hit the diff cover. :mad: I'm going to have to have some longer links made. I got the longest ones, but they weren't long enough. They are disconnected for now, so I don't damage the cover at all when driving. I'll have some new links made in the meantime. I'll keep you all updated...
