I will be getting a new head unit this week and I have already bought the dash kit and wire harness. I was looking at the instructions for the dash kit, and it says that it recommends that you put the "pocket" at the top, but that you could also put it at the bottom. How did you all install yours??? I would think that it would look better at the bottom, but don't want to do this if the head unit won't be properly supported. Here is a copy of the install instructions:

Sorry dude
I know this one from experience. I had mine on the top and I wanted to put my cb in it. So I sliced the crap out of my kit to install the cb into it, but when I put it in upside down the mounting tabs dont hold it in place.
If you put it in upside down the deck will not stay in place. You can always screw or attach the mounting kit to the radio surround somehow, and then you could have it upside down, although I dont recommend it, because it would be supporting the weight of your deck without its designed mounting system.

Let us know if you have more questions

Chris

thats what I was thinking, I wouldn't want it to be improperly supported. Thanks!

Mine supported it both ways. At first i had it with the pocket on the bottom but i really didn't like it that way so i flipped it and now its seems a little more sturdy, i think thats the way its suposed to go anyways, if you look at your stock HU the "slanted" part is on top
