I have a '91 Ford Explorer and I recently noticed that the dashboard lights and running/parking lights will not work. (The tail light bulbs are good, because the turn signals and hazard lights still work).

I checked all of the fuses. Any ideas?

Could it be related to the actual headlight switch???? (Since it controls both the running/parking lights and the dashboard lights?)

Thanks for your input!

It's the headlight switch. At Autozone/Advance it's about a 15 dollar part, and really easy to switch out. What happened with yours is probably teh same thing that happened with mine, a connection went bad in the headlight switch and it went south.

I put in the new switch, and messed with the connection some to make sure they were all on there good, and then used electrical tape to hold everything in place. Now all lights work as they should. The dash lights are even brighter then I remember.
