Data Link Connector (DLC)

2007 Model Explorer LTD. Who knows where the DLC is located? It is supposed to be under dash to the left or right of the steering wheel. Well, it's not. I even removed the bolster cover and still can't find it. I looked on the passenger side also. Where is it hidden? I researched this on Google and got a jillion different answers so that didn't work.

mine on my 2007 is vertical and you cant see it unless you lay on your back... it sucks because I leave in my BT dongle for my torque app on my phone and the parking brake release is blocked... but I never need to use is so owell

swshawaii and motorcityfats--thanks. You are absolutely right. Very well hidden. I would never have seen it without that pic of the emergency brake handle. What a neat place to hide a connector. Anyway, I found it and hooked up my scan tool---everything is fine. Really appreciate the help. BTW, where is Flatrock, Mi? I spent one year in the UP at Kincheloe AFB before it closed in 1977. Did not like that winter. Over 400 inches of snow that year.

flatrock is in south east wayne county about 15 miles south west of detroit

it looks like the EB explorers got the horizontal dlc and all else got the vertical

I have a 1993 ford explorer i have a scanner but will not read always errors either check data link connector or make sure ignition is off any ideas???????
