The daytime running lights on my 2002 explorer sport do not funcion any more.

The other day they were slow to come on and then they flashed like a strobe light. Yesterday they did not come on at all. My headlights function normally. I verified all the fuses listed in the owners manual and they are all ok. Since the daytime running lights use the same bulbs as the headlights but at a lower intensity and since the headlights work, I don't think that the bulbs are a problem. Is there a relay or a fusible link or something that may have burned out? and if so whre would it be located? There is very little info in the owners manual. Any help will be appreciated as we are required to have daytime lights in Canada.

There is a "daytime light module" that pulses the 12v supply to get your "lower intensity" happening on your high beams. Its on the left hand front corner of the engine compartment (near the head light some where... the picture in my 96 reference is not very good). It gets two feeds of 12v in (pin 3 and 7 ... one hot all times, one in run) and feeds your lamps with "pulsed voltage" on pins 6 and 8.

hmm i dont think this belongs in the 911 section

My 1991 Explorer had the same problem, it was the module. Replaced under warranty at the time, I'd check with your dealer as this might not be a mileage restricted repair. Mine was done on a recall.
