I have a 2000 Mountaineer and would like to have daytime running lights. Has anyone installed or enabled them on their vehicle. I am not sure if it is possible, if the wiring harness is in place or if something just needs to be changed.

Can anyone shed and light on this?

Thanks,
Bob

I have a 92 Explorer XLT and I recall reading that the Canadian versions have a running light module installed. Don't know if the module is plug and play or if it would require mods to the wiring harness. A look at the wiring diagram or a visit to the dealer may shed some light on this.

i dont have daytime running lights but i do have the auto dimming mirror with a slider on it i can turn on so the lights come on automatically when the sensor doesnt get enough light....i dont know if thats what you mean.......this is on my 2000 X

I also have the auto dimming mirror with the auto on/off headlamp switch, but what I am looking for is the ability to have daylight running lights where the headlamps operate at reduced brightness.

Thanks for your reply,
Bob
