I left the dome light on in my 93 explorer and of course the battery died. I've had two different people try and jump me and both times the car just clicks rapidly but won't turn over. Is the battery just completely toast now?

Last time my battery died from leaving the dome light on, not even leaving the charger on it for 3 hours would start it. It took a 5.4 F-150 jumping me to get it to start.

Make sure the cables are high quality, cheap cables are ****.

Attach the positive to the positive terminal, the ground clamp should go on a good grounding point on the engine, not the dead battery. Use the alternator housing where the bolt is or something else sturdy.

I have seen this problem a few times one thing that you really need to check is the battery terminals are they really corroded? If so a good cleaning might help. Also if the battery cables havent been changed in a long time? My originals lasted til last year now would be a good time to change those as well they will eventually corode inside the insulation and cause a problem with a jump start or even make you think you have a battery going bad.
