OK, so here's my situation... I just bought a FORD 2006 Explorer the other day (which i love) and was offered a very "top of the line" nav system for 2000.00 as a dealer installed option(was told its included in 3year/36 coverage); the eclipse AVN30D. I was feeling pretty good that I had talked them down to 1850.00 for the unit. AFTER leaving the dealership i did some research and found that the 30d is basically an auto dealer version of the Eclipse AVN5435 WITHOUT rca outs and ESN. WTF! This unit sells for 1199.00 at circuit city!! The nav/stereo system has yet to be scheduled for install and I havnt completed the FORD customer satisfaction survey, so I still should have them by the balls... What would you do in my situation

make them match the price you found install shouldnt be 650 bucks i think the price at circuit city has free install to tell them if they dont you dont want it

Thanks for the quick reply, does anybody know how much dealer cost on this item is....? Or retail cost? 2000.00 seams a bit high for something you can buy at circuitcity for 1199.00. These guys where trying to screw me i think!

Does 1199 include the Nav unit? I know some of the Alpines use aux Nav units that cost about $1000. Also ask if your wheel controls will still work.

Appearently the eclipse 30d is designed to work with oem equipment like steering wheel controls... i dont have them though. The 1199.00 unit does have nav / gps included... its an all in one solution.

best way to think of it I guess is that it is dealer installed so if anything goes wrong the are responsible on whatever happens regardless.

My dealer tried to get me into an Eclipse but Im leaning toward an AVIC. You have to understand the prices they get wouldnt be the same as circuit city who buys in bulk. Im selling my stock navi to pay for my new N1, N2 if youre interested. PM me or email me at toolimited4u@hotmail.com
