Dealership misleading me about coolant intrusion in cylinders?

Yours being an '18, was the 2.3L EB, correct?
The 2.3L EB has an external water pump. The 3.5L has the internal one.

Yes but he presumably had the other issue that the 2.xL EBs are prone to, cylinder water jacket leak.

Sorry, I guess I forgot about the thread topic. The water pump issue is so prevalent.

Yep, this was the coolant leak issue on ecoboosts where the idiots who designed the engine block put the channels in the bottom block to let coolant flow through, it degraded the head gaskets, coolant leaks into the engine and destroys it.
