My little brother just got his permit and within a week he totaled the family Suburban and a Trailblazer. Here is the Suburban:

The Trailblazer's front axel was apparently ripped off.
He was out on a country highway between Edmond & Guthrie OK. he was coming up to a stop sign, hit a bunch of sand on the road (for the snow we've been having) and slid into the intersection. The Trailblazer hit him going around 50 or so....luckily my bro's defensive driving kicked in and he turned with the hit, made it a lot better according to the police.

Everyone is ok luckily, he may not get his DL until he is 18 though because he got the ticket for failure to stop.

Man that sucks, my little bro just got his permit too, so far he hasnt been an an accident... Kock on wood

if that was me and i slid on sand that the state/city put down, and they said it was my fault for sliding on their sand, and they would revoke my permit, i'd go into a lawsute. On a different note, my first explorer got whomped by a speeding somalian when i made a left on solid green, and i got a ticket for failure to yeild, which is close to your brothers ticket due to the conditions, but i still have my license - hopefully same goes for him.

Yeah, my dad intends to fight it. Right now it is weird because Zach (my bro) cannot remember much, airbag made him hit his head on the plastic holder thing for the seatbelt (which broke) and has a bit of a concussion. His grandma was with him, but I am not sure how much help she is gonna be, she is a bit dingy :D

It sounds to me like your brother was going to fast for conditions. Yes sand is aslmost as bad as ice and he's just started driving which doesn't help.

I'f I'd wrecked two cars in such little time it waould't have been the state revoking my permit it'd been my parents.

I'm glad your brother is O.K. ant it was just a couple of Chevys that were totaled :D

I think the Trailblazer was someone else's vehicle.

Sand can be tricky though- I know I've slid a few times around here... And I can drive like a ****. :D

Glad your little brother is ok- sounds like he took a few pretty good shots.

Ah, I misread it. I thought he totaled two family cars.

I took a hell of a ride in my '65 Mustang 26 years ago because of sand and my stupidity. I was lucky no one else was around me.

Reminds me of my SHO... When Cletus drifted over into my lane in his truck. Had to go somewhere, but it was a fun ride... I almost threaded those arrow signs, dammit! :D

Yeah the trailblazer was the other guy....I agree he was going to fast...apparently the position of the sun etc he couldn't tell there was sand...no clue...although one does have to wonder how much sand there was to make such a large vehicle slide so far

that sux bout the suburban

yeah, it was actually a good vehicle, especially considering my dad got it for 1000$ and only put about 1500-2000 of work into it. Ran like a champ.
