I was wondering if you guys could help me diagnose my problem.

In a right turn, and decellerate it sounds like a deck of cards in a kids back bicycle tire.

I can get it to go away sometimes when I put it in reverse.

Is that the axel shaft or u-joint?
my transfer case?
brakes?
auto-hubs?

this sound us not present at a stop only in motion.

Good chance that's an auto hub. That's what mine sounded like before I went to manuals. Backing up sometimes temporarily fixes it because that is how you normally unlock your hubs. I'd start there.

Agreed

My 93 XLT used to make the same noise before I got rid of it, only it would happen during accel as well as decel. I would back up and the noise went away. At the time I never investigated it thoroughly, partly because my shift motor was not working, I was getting rid of it soon. But I was quite certain it was coming from the hubs.

I had that sound and it was the u-joints. Mine didn't make it only when turning. It made it under all conditions.

i have the exact same problem, and i am sure its the auto-hubs
