I started on one with my trans guy. He took a 2wd pan (it has a flat bottom- no sump like the 4wd) and added a band to make it the depth of the sump for the 4wd. He ran out of time and I havent followed up so I dont have one. When I get some extra time I want to finish it up.
We needed to check for ground clearance, and add a baffle or tube around the pick up. As I remember it the bottom was going to need a skid plate or some heavier plate on the bottom. I thought 3/16" plate with some holes drilled so it could be welded to the bottom of the pan. Other things needed were a plug, and a temp sender bung.
Another Idea is this co, they make private label pans- maybe they can do custom runs of some quantity? I havent contacted them yet. May be worth a shot.
