Check with your dealer. A guy here at work got his last two Firestones replaced at the dealer two weeks ago under the recall. The option to take it to a tire dealer though has expired though so has the option to buy your own tires and get reimbursed. Your only option now is to go to the dealer and take what they give you.
Officially, I think the recall ended on 03/31/02. At least that's what my dealer told me when I took my spare in last March. He couldn't see how Ford could end a recall, but they supposedly did....
The letter to the dealer does state that the program ended on 3/31/02. They can end it whenever they want since it was a voluntary recall. They were not forced to issue it. If the NHTSA would have forced the recall then it would expire when the NHTSA said it would. I don't know how my co-worker was able to get the tires a couple of weeks ago. He didn't say anything about having to ***** to get them.
