I backed into a dumpster and dented in the rear pillar of the Explorer

Circled in blue (note this is not a picture of mine)

Anyone have a shop manual or Haynes manual with info on how hard it is to remove that piece? I was hoping to get one at the junkyard to replace it as long as it is not too difficult to swap out.

Thanks in advance your help!

thats part of the tail gate... you have to repare it or replace the tail gate.

Thanks for your help I guess I am just going to have to bondo it up. Anyone know what color black that part is. It almost looks satin and not really that glossy.

3M trim black on the 1st gens, they didn't have a gloss to them that I can remember. Try Plasticoat Black too

yeah while your at it paint the other side too it really birghtens up the back of the expos...then you also dont have to worry about matching since their both fresh and naturally will match.

That is exactly what I plan on doing :)

Bmwz389 I will have to check out the automotive stores and try to hunt that down. I looked at a 1st gen the other day and really that trim panel seems almost identical so I bet that 3M trim paint would work great.

yeah we use that on most panels unless they are newer vehicles that actually have clear on them lol
