When I had a problem with my transmission I took it to my ford dealer to have it checked out (diagnostic cost me $95) and all I got was a bill that said I needed a rebuild, shouldn't I have got a diagnostic readout if they had done one.

The shops always try to push you to get a full rebuild. Did you have a check engine light or a flashing overdrive light?
