I did the brown wire mod., this weekend, I tapped into the brown wire at the TOD relay next to the air bag. I'm wondering if everyones (or those who have one) switch lights up as your accelarate despite road conditions. Mine even growns in intensity if in Park and I rev the motor it lights up more. Also I get a little "shudder" sometimes when I have it off and I'm in some snow or something, but not always.
Next, my door code says I have an open rear, but when I get in some gravel or snow for a brake stand, both wheels are spinning. Possibly a locker in there or is that how an open rear functions?
Also just making sure that there are no adverse effects of this mod., but man it felt good to spin tires again.

What exactly do you have in the rear end. I'm taking it that you have an open diff, if so, it's not normal for both tires to spin, and on normal pavement, they probably won't. But when your on really slick pavement, snow, sand, etc. both tires will sometimes spin.

According to my door code I have an 3.73 open rear, I'll double check and snap some pics of it tonight when I go to work, along with my install of the swtich.

My switch acts the same way...It's just telling you when the system is calling for the transfer case to supply power to the front wheels. The light will vary in intensity (dim to bright) in 4x4 auto as more power is transferred to the front. In 4x4 high or low it should be constantly lit.

I realize that, and thanks for the respones by the way. But what I can't understand is why it lights up more in P when I rev the engine a bit. It also seems to be sending more power to the front on dry pavement too. But according to the site here everything is wires right.

Oh...you're asking why, and I don't really know the answer. I always just figured there was some sort of RPM component of the process. It only seems to do it when you goose the gas pedal whether in park or in drive. If you slowly depress the gas pedal, the light doesn't seem to get brighter. So, I'm guessing that the computer calls for power to the front under quick, heavy acceleration circumstances in addition to the wheel slipping info it gets from the wheel sensors, etc. Just my $.02, but I'd be curious as well if anyone knows for sure.

I tried to spin 'em around a corner tonight and I got a little shudder/vibration, tranny related? anyone?

Nope that is you trying to make a heavy SUV into a sports car :D and getting wheel hop. When the tires almost break loose but don't, you will get some wheel hop and shudder from the hopping tires.

F and no F, no offense but my blazer would break 'em lose everyone once in a while. But its good its not tranny related, I'm already getting some shudder going up hill under load :( Warrenty tho :)

Clean your Mass Airflow Sensor. Your shudder could be pinging/knocking.
