All,

Thanks for all the help on my last post asking about MA Audio Amps and Subs.

I was thinking really hard if I should order or just see whats on sale at my local Circuit City. Which I knew that they do not sell MA Audio equiptment.


-But anyways I did pick up a little some'thin, some'thin.
I got a for a Subwoofer the Bazooka in. Car Subwoofer (TVB141)

and for the amp I got the Audiobahn 2-Channel 100-Watt Amplifier (ADB A2002T)

Since CC was having a sale if you get any amp of a price of $149.00 you get 2 free subs. The subs are not so good. They are the Profile Baja's (I had and returned a while back). So I told the manager I did not want the speaker by Profile, so they gave me a credit refund of $40.00 on the grand total price of my two Items I stated above. Anyways... I read up on some reviews on the Audiobahn amp and seems like its a keeper. IMHO it pretty damn sweet. Has blue lights and a fan cooler to it. Pushing the Bazakaa pretty hard and over its limits , bridged of course and no Sonic bass on what so ever.
As for the Sub,, It seems to bass really nice. But I was not able to get any feedback on them. I think it might be discontuined. I dunno.

Anyways do you guys think I did good or can I do better. The amount of money I spent was 300.00 out the door.

I got the amp for 129.00 (after discount)
I got the Bazooka for 160.00 (after discount)
+ plus tax and all (doh).

So what'cha all think? Yaw or NaW?

Keep in mind if I can save room in the cargo area. that is one of my main purposes b/c I did it this way. But I am up for suggestions ' always

OK.. what I am thinking is keeping the amp and return the Bazooka in. Car Subwoofer (TVB141)

and get the MA Audio MA12BP and snatch it up for $169.00
You guys think these 2 12"s should pound harder then the Bazooka will for the money? I see that the box is ported also. Anyone agree?

just got done talking w/ ZEB and seems like I can get a m283t amp and a box w/ 2 -12"s for (model#ma12bp) for a whooping $259.98 shipped to my door step. $40.00 less then what i got at CC. I am hopein that the MA stuff will be a better buy. Well see.

i think you made the rigght choice in dumping the bazookas, you could even do better for 260 but....

That amp will not do those subs justice, not sayin it wont bump but..... well they like more power. If you have enough dough, and want to stay with ma.. look into either the mi1883/6 i mono amp, hk1997 or one of the new class d amps. But anyhew you should be happy, let us know how it sounds...

i would stay away from bandpass, if you like the sound than cool. but my personal choice of weaponry is ported, only because ease of tuning.

So a band pass is not the way to go in a Explorer then?

I ran a sealed box a while back and it sounded good also. I never had a true ported setup on my X before.
So that would sound the best then?

I can build a box also. would anyone here like to share some specs/dimms for a ported box for 2-12" woofer setup? I say... ummm 2" to 2.5" cubic space box ported of course. thanks

I had a pair of 12" ma audio Xe subs in a small ported box for a while, 1.25ft3 each, off of 1,000 watts and they sounded good. 140db's or so....

How bout this?

^Or you could have thezeb price match that auction, they should be able to.

If this is too much $$$ your setup certainly wont be bad, but I'd reccommend moving up to a larger amp if you feel you can, and use the 283 for the front stage.

From 1 Texan to another, why not buy a box already built for an Explorer? There is one for sell right now that is nice in the for sell forum. Just a thought and it has some nice equipment in it already. Go give it a look and see what you think, never hurts.

It is our little old Expo's box. Come one Expo, sell him your box.

i recommend ported, im sure expo would also, i dont really know his taste though. alot of people say that ported will make your sound almost double, like if you had 1 sub ported it would sound like 2 subs. this is a generalization, if you go sealed and have it NICELY made, then it will be equally as awesome.
