Did I get a dud transmission?

Got a fully remanufactured transmission from a reman transmissions for my 1998 Ford Explorer 4.0 Eddie Bauer rear wheel drive automatic. It doesn't seem that there is anything inside the transmission for the cooling lines, which are flared, to seat properly to. It leaks like a sieve. Even after it is fully tightened down you can push the lines in and out of the transmission. I have the feeling something is bad wrong here and this transmission cost over $2,000. I am in closing a short video. Please help if you are knowledgeable. The transmission type is (5R55E)

There should be a adapter fitting in the transmission, that you screw the tube flare nut into.

No the old one was returned for the core

you should have remove the fittings. The dealer, JY, or auto part store.

A junk yard will be your best bet. It's common for all the little things to be stripped off the transmission. What I learned the hard way is, it is better to turn the item in for the core credit after the job is complete. It's easy to miss or overlook, small but critical items.

What do these fittings look like? And is there any chance I could go up to O'Reilly's and buy them? I really don't have a clue. I didn't see anything on the old transmission in that area, but maybe I missed it. Now I have no idea what I'm looking for. Plus I'm feeling a little defeated after working that hard in my garage, solo, then thinking I was done only to get a garage floor full of transmission fluid

If the thread type and size are known, it maybe available at a hardware store. This is something I do not know off the top of my head. Inspect the threads inside the transmission case.

I could not find your part number, but you can first try your local auto part store or then the ford dealer. Show then this picture. This is not your fitting. Its just similar.

Transmission fluid flow

I have a 5r55e Transmission and want to know which way the trans fluid flows through the radiator, i.e does the fluid flow form the top of the radiator down or the bottom of the radiator up. I nned toknow this as I am installing a in line tran filter. \ Thanks

Nuts are about 1/2 inch wide. You can see the tube seat inside the fitting.

Just note. The adapter fitting you need, is also used at the other end, at the radiator. You take look at those fittings. The driver side of the radiator. I don't know if they are the same fitting on the tranny., but the tube ends are the same. They are probably the same. They screw into the cooler, which is inside the radiator.
