Does it die if you got your foot on the gas kepping it revved?
try some fuel system cleaner might do double dose if I was you.
Get it in the tank and shake the truck by jumping on the back bumper then let er run for a while whilst reving it good every once in a while.
my 93 does something similar once in a while, even after putting the other motor in so i know its not engine related. torque converter sounds possible, my torque converter lock-up solenoid is out and i think thats a major part of my problem.
