which kind? there are a boat load of diff gaurds out there, and there are some for the 8.8 rear end

I will have to go back and look them up for the company name, I will be back later tonight

That one will not work. It has to be for a Ford 8.8" axle.
Younger brother does have one for the 8.8. Here's a link to their site Dead Link Removed They have a half and full size diff guards.
Rons' Custom shop also has diff guards for the 8.8 in a few models Ron's Custom Shop Hope this helps.

I've got one from Ron's shop. Got the 8.8 and one for my Dana 30 solid axle. I've not got to try it out yet, actually it's not on my truck yet. But it's very nice quality.

Happy trails!!

Here is a picture of mine. The 8.8 is the big one, dana 30 is the small one.

Happy trails!!

I got one of the extreme guards from Rons Custom Shop. I love it, just wish I had the chance to use it more often! Picture

I just made my own diff guard for my rear 8.8 but if I were to buy one now, I would look into getting the new Warn guard. It is nice and from what I have heard the price is very competitive with others.

:)
Thanks for the Ron's custom shop site... I like the low-clearance guard...

and at $75 that is half the cost of the (almost identical) avalanche engineering one!!! I will have to save that site. :bounce:

edit; You could probably drop CRL customs an e-mail and see how much/ what type he could make ;)

Cory at CRL does make them but they aren't like this. It is more like a skid plate for the diff. It doesn't bolt to the housing, it bolts around the axle tubes.

Happy trails!!

Cool, thanks Josh.

;)

Happy trails!!

Does CRL have a website, i am more interested in the skid plate design

CRL's addy is www.crlcustoms.com

They are a site sponsor, so you may recognize the name from the box at the top of the threads. :)

I think Josh was saying that their's is almost a 'basket-like' attachment to protect the bottom of the diff... similar to the more traditional axle trusses... with the attachments for support around the axle tubes.
