have any of you out there used or are using a lock right by powertrax? i have found one for the 8.8 and what i think is the front end also. the rear is for an 8.8 31spline and the front is for a dana 35 27 spline. can any of you tell me if this is what i need or is it the wrong splines. also it says that installation is very easy and you don't have to reset your ring and pinion now i've installed a limited slip in a gm axle and you had to reset the r & p can someone hopefully explain this to me. sorry so long i had alot of questions.

If you really want a lunchbox locker (although I don't recommend it), you should go with the lock-right's more civilized brother, the no-slip. Yes, you will not have to mess with the ring & pinion.

is't the no slip a limited slip and not a locker.

No, it is a full-locker. It should be able to handle up to a 35" tire on our trucks. The front is avery difficult install, but the rear should be easy enough to do in your driveway.

Your front is 27 spline and the rear is a 31 spline 8.8. I would recommend the No-Slip is this is for your daily driver. I have one in the front and it is great.

Nothing is wrong with lunchbox lockers as long as you know your limitations.

that's good and thanx for the info for the axles i was wandering what spline they were and i didn't feel like tering into the axle to find out. now will i need to get manual hubs right away or will the autos and the locker be ok together for now?

I would reccomend manuals for anyone any day of the week. The auto will be okay, but I wouldn't chance it.
