I'm checkin out the JL 12w3's and previously i had the d4 models. what is the difference between d2 and d4? does it deal with the ohms? If i went with d2s what would be the difference between the 2?

without checkin the JL site id imagine that it means either, dual 2 ohm voice coils - d2, or dual 4 ohm voice coils - d4.... that would make sense to me,
you can wire the d2 into 1 ohm or 4 ohm
and the d4 into 2 ohm or 8 ohm load --- If my above statement was correct.

Dave your are absolutly correct the d2,d4,d6 d1.5 in the JL audio specs refers to the ohmage of each of the voice coils. when it states D2 means duel 2 hom voice coil.
