Differencial lock for 01 Explorer 4x2...

I have a 2001 Ford Explorer 4 door 4X2 that suits me fine most of the times. But I would like to install a differential lock for the occasional mud or snow patch. Does this Explorer use the same rear axle as the 4x4? Is there any lock that folks recommend? How difficult is it to install? Thanks!

First off, yes your rear diff is a 31 spline Ford 8.8". There is a ton of info about lockers on the board.

I reccomend to do a search for aussie locker, detroit locker, arb locker, and lunch box locker... That should bring up some good threads for you to browse and gain lots of info.
