Different 4x4 Switch?

I was browsing Kijiji/Craigslist and was flipping through Explorers and found a 97 Eddie Bauer and noticed this '4x4 switch.'

I have never seen an Ex with a switch like this, what is it?

From what I see, the left says "normal ride", not sure about the right.

That's the air ride control I believe...was on Eddie Bauers and limiteds....

Wasn't the air ride automatic, with an on/off switch in the back where the jack is kept?

On some years, I believe so...I thought only the limiteds had this switch setup, but I've only seen one in person, so yeah

yes it is for air ride. firm or soft basically. There is no 4x4 switch on an
all wheel drive.

I think they made the system automatic starting in 98. I was this "" close to picking up a 2000 LTD years ago that had ARC and it had the orange shutoff switch in the rear and no switch.
